- MOTHERING OPEN HOUSE AND ANNIVERSARY PARTY
Let's get the party started and kick off the weekend together at Mothering world headquarters! Come meet and greet the staff in their natural working environs. Connect with other Mothering readers, make new friends, and find more of your tribe. It wouldn't be a party without children's activities, music and danceāso we've got them all! Check out our lending library, peruse 30 years of back issues, and experience the place and people behind the pages.
- PHOTO SHOOT
Bring your smiles, pregnant bellies, and children to our anniversary party for a photo shoot. Maybe you or your child will appear on the cover, pages or website of Mothering.
- THE ART OF MOTHERING
A mixed media art exhibition centered around the experience of having and raising the next generation. Diverse interpretations pay homage to the many facets of natural family life.
- MDC MIXER
Meet face to face those friends you have made on the MotheringDotCommune Discussion Boards. Come on . . . you know you're curious! Get to know the people behind the online personas: your virtual community, together in real life.
- MOTHERING AT THE MOVIES
An eclectic mix of aesthetic and entertaining films about mothering. We welcome submissions of films for a slot in this unique film series.
- A QUIET PLACE: Conversation & Booksigning with Peggy O'Mara
For 30 years, Peggy O'Mara has been the source and inspiration for natural parenting wisdom in every issue of Mothering magazine. She's been the editor and publisher of Mothering magazine for 26 years and is a leading expert on natural approaches to pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. Peggy's editorials have touched thousands of readers with words of profound insight and compassion. Join us in celebrating her newly released anthology, A Quiet Place: Essays on Life and Family. Peggy O'Mara is also the author of Having a Baby, Naturally and Natural Family Living, and is the mother of four adult children.
- MOTHERING: THE MONOLOGUES
Project Life Stories presents Mothering: The Monologues. This theatrical production focuses on personal experiences of motherhood. In a therapeutic monologue process, we shine a spotlight on the stories of our lives to celebrate the rich diversity in our extended mothering community. This event is a benefit for Many Mothers, a Santa Fe nonprofit offering vital support to families with newborns.
- MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH AND HOT MAMAS FASHION SHOW
What if a mouthwatering Mother's Day brunch out was a special event and family-friendly (just think: openly nursing your baby while sipping your fresh-squeezed oj, cloth napkin on your lap)? What if a fashion show honored women and their desire to look great while living real lives in bodies of all shapes and sizes? Feed your inner glamour girl and nourish your body as you nosh, ooh and aah to the latest in eco-friendly fashions featuring maternity, nursing, slings and children's wear.
- IN THE MOTHER TONGUE
One of Mothering's many distinctions is the poetry we publish in each issue. Revel in the intimacy of profound, evocative rhymes at a poetry reading with several of the country's beloved "mother poets." Join Peggy O'Mara, Joan Logghe, former Mothering poetry editor, and longtime Mothering contributor Anne Valley Fox. Let us know if you would like to submit your poem for inclusion in this performance.
Contact marketing@mothering.com if you would like to perform, attend or help out. We welcome family-friendly companies interested in sponsorship opportunities.
