Lamaze posts statements re elective cesarean sections

Dear Friends,

Henci Goer brought these new articles to my attention to share with you. She wrote:

“You can now get PDFs for two new articles on the Lamaze website on the elective c/sec issue: "Elective Cesarean Surgery Versus Planned Vaginal Birth: What Are the Consequences?" and "The Problem with Maternal Request Cesarean." http://www.lamaze.org/institute/about/statements.asp

There have been articles in newspapers around the country on this topic, and NIH (National Institute of Health) is holding a “state-of-the-science” conference on cesareans by maternal request at the end of March. There are likely to be more articles on this topic, and we can all write letters to the editor in response. These two articles provide excellent resources for writing letters to the editor or speaking with anyone on this topic. Thank you Henci!

Sincerely,

Susan Hodges, “gatekeeper”
